I was born in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan and have lived in Aylesbury since I was just a year old with my parents who are originally from the North West Frontier. I have always lived in Aylesbury apart from when I went away to London to study for my degree. During the degree I had a great year working in Droitwich which provided a great contrast to living in London and Aylesbury.
After completing my degree, although always working in London I have lived in Aylesbury to be close to my family. For a long while I was part of the great commuter exodus every morning to London. First working in advertising, then various parts of the Marketing industry, to finally after completing an MBA, working in the City.
Finally realized my ambition of living and working in Aylesbury by setting up a IT Consultancy and Web Design Company.
I was first elected as an independent councilor in 1999; joining the Liberal Democrats in 2000, I was elected as a Councillor on to Aylesbury Vale District Council and Aylesbury Town Council. I was also elected on to the Buckinghamshire County Council in 2005.
I was given the great honour in 2006 of being elected Mayor of Aylesbury Town.
I am lucky to have a supportive family and have four children, the rest of my immediate family all live in Aylesbury.
